Establishment of Coal Testing Labs in the state
Coal is a versatile energy resource, which may be burnt directly to generate electric power / process steam or converted to fuel. In brick kiln industry in the state of Bihar, coal is the only source through which brick is manufactured.
It has come to the notice of the Corporation that there is no facility of coal testing in the state which leads to difficulty for coal users and they bound to rely on the coal suppliers about the grade, calorific value of coal.
In order to achieve greater efficiency with due consideration to environmental protection, coal supplied from other states is required to be tested and analysed.
The Corporation is planning to take initiative for coal testing in the state in collaboration with accredited labs engaged in this activity in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode or any other mode.
